Hi all,
I started as a graduate trainee for a large non-IT company 9 months ago. I have been working on web-based applications for about the past 4 months using technologies such as VBScript, ASP, Crystal and some, limited, JavaScript. My degree is in Management and so far my company has not given me any training at all in the above technologies (I had an Introduction to Programming course when I started). I find that I am struggling to do the work as I do not have any basic training. I know that it is not just a case of me being thick(!) as I did really well on the aptitude test for the interview. I really think it is just a case of increasing my knowledge. The problem is that I'm not someone who learns easily from books - I much prefer to be taught or shown things. Can anyone recommend any courses (in the UK - preferably London) or training programmes that might be suitable? It would be preferable if they were outside working hours and not too expensive. At the moment, it is having a de-motivational effect on me as I just feel I'm not achieving anything.
Thanks very much for your help - I really appreciate it!
kind regards,
Blue
