Hi there....we had problems with people accessing our intrant site due to the DNS being too busy so we set up another DNS

one primary and then a secondary.

Is there a way to type a command in DOS

that i can see what server is issuing the page....

If if the DNS server was to busy it wouldnt respond. It would take a hell of alot of traffic to cause this though. And i dont see that if your DNS server is to busy it would cause people to access your intranet site. It sounds like you have an incorrect record causing people to be pointed to that site.

I dont know what you mean by this ? What server using what page ?

You need to be clear on what your asking and what you are trying todo.

How do you know if the DNS server is too busy? Just check your the processor/ram usage.

It happens throughout the day.....and some people can't get into the site....then say an hour later...you can...

So we added another DNS to cope with the requests incase timeout..

Just wanted to know if you record...when the first DNS fails..that the 2nd came in...

Can i see when DNS 1 is overloaded.

Intranet/internet? when is slow, try to access the site with the IP address

The Ip address is working...........its the where we put the name of the site we called it intranet into the DNS.

Trying to figure out where our bottleneck is and why the DNS server is going down.............

What application you install beside DNS on the first DNS Server? try to do nslookup.
