Trace a call 1

Hi,

I need some help please. I want to trace 'real time' a call into a DN or TN. I know the command trac 0 5900 shows the snapshot but I also tried entc 248 0 1 0 0005 and then gotr expecting to see the information scrolling up the screen... but it doesn't! FITR shows that I have trace on but nothing is displayed.

Am I missing something REALLY obvious here?!?!?!

is it a 21-81c or 11 - cmds are different.

go back to ld 80 and stpt

It is a CS1000e. What does the dev option do?

I didn't leave the overlay when running the command.

Tried the dev option, still nothing. Do I have to turn messages on or something?!?!

dev gives more detail, shouldn't have to turn any mon on, getting any kind of error?

just read - entc requires multi user (pkg 242) to be enabled in ld 17

prt pkg in ld 22 & look for that pkg, which I would guess you have, and turn it in in ld 17

it allows the logi with names and multi log ins

Turned Multi_User ON in LD22...

Still not showing anything.

then set it up 1 more time and start trace.

and the tty you are on has user=mtc
and stay in ld 80 after the gotr
I just tryed it and worked
sometimes you must type the whole tn
248 0 01 00 to nortel machines

yep... all that! Maybe I have a duff system. The trac works fine!

You may have to INI or SYS the system before it will start working.

ENTC "TN" "TIME" 0100 = 1 hour.

GOTR

IT should automatically print out the keys for that set.

maybe my original question wasn't clear... When I run the gotr I get the keys appearing on the screen, but what I want to see if the call data after that. I want to see a live call in action scrolling up the screen...

OK> great! You see the keys scroll on your screen once.

Now wait, or initiate a call to the phone you are monitoring. As soon as you do. More data will scroll on the screen. Give it a try!

Yep... that is the bit that isn't working! I initiate a call and nothing. Does the phone actually have to answer to get any informtion? I only ask this because I am doing this remotely so I am unable to pickup the phone. trac shows the call even when unanswered.
