Totaling a Crosstab

Hi everyone I'm having a problem with generating totals in a report based on a crosstab query.

The report I am trying to generate must have Division and National totals. I created another crosstab to generate the totals and tried to use it as a subreport. I was able to link it but when I tried print preview the report I recieved the following error:

You cannot use a pass-thru query or a non-fixed-col crosstab as a record source for a subform or subreport.

Any ideas how can I create the totals I want?

Does the crosstab that you are using for a subreport always have the same number of columns?

Is there a reason why you can't just use totals using the report's sorting and grouping?
