Many moons ago using MS Access 2.x I had a utility that would do a global find and replace. Does anyone know what it is or can anyone reccomend a product. I need a Access 2000 version now.

Many Thanks In Advance ...

Mark Dicken - Contractor
Email markd@trainingserve.com

I guess you are talking about finding data in your table not code in VBA???

In a table:
Open your table and Click in the column you want to replace stuff.
then click "Edit" menu then click "Replace"

Or Ctrl-H
Or if you click the Top of the column so it's completely highligthed all the way down, then Right click and you will see find with Binoculars which has the replace TAB in it.
Also there are a pair of binoculars in the menu above which has the replace added to it too.

OK
DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

Thanks for your comments DougP but It is the VBA Code and QueryCriteria's and Form Names and Modules that need replacing.

A good example is I once spelled 'tblAccountant' wrong. I had created forms and queries and modules of VBA code that pointed to the mis-spelled table name. The utility is very powerful but also harmful if not used correctly.

Many Thanks In Advance for any answers ...

Regards

Mark Dicken - Contractor
Email markd@trainingserve.com
dear mark,
i have had excellent results with a lovely utility named appropriately, "find and replace".
the programmer, rick fisher, has versions for 2.0, 97 and 2000. you can purchase all three for under $50; separately they're about $20 each.

his website is <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> email is rfisher@rickworld.com

Thankyou Geekette - Just What I Was After ... (Find and Replace)

Regards

Mark Dicken

BTW there is a new Name Autocorrect feature in Access 2000. This works at the object level and in queries, but I have to use Access's own "Find & Replace" for references in the code.

I remember a product called Speed Ferret that also did the same thing.

Anyone know of "Speed Ferret " ???

Regards

Mark Dicken

Yes, it's by Black Moshannon. It's a great product for Access97 or earlier but they don't have the Acesss 2000 version yet. Speed Ferret does more than Find & Replace, it has a great reporting feature than allows you to review where each instance is used and replace just selected ones. <A HREF=" TARGET="_new">
