tn464 tie line question

Currently we use an adtran tsu 600 to multiplex a line. One of these goes to our router, one goes to the phone system (channels 13-24)

Basic questions on the tn464f card... will this interface directly with the smartjack? I don't need the data channels anymore and eliminating the Adtran csu's entirely would be nice.

If this IS the case... I see the 'near end CSU type' setting is on OTHER right now (cha ds1 01b18) Should it be changed to internal if I wire directly?

Thanks for any help for a newbie :)

The easiest way to connect the TN 464 to the smart jack is via an Avaya 120A integrated CSU module. This module plugs directly into the 25 pair connector on the back of the carrier and contains two modular jacks. One jack is an RJ-48c for direct connection to the smart jack. The other is for alarm contacts if you need them. You would use the near end CSU type of 'Integrated' only with this type of CSU. If you are familiar with configuring your current Adtran CSU you could certainly reconfigure it to direct all 24 channels to your PBX and save the cost of a new CSU.

Great! I am almost positive I already have some of the a120's around that I can use.

If not... the Adtran isn't a big deal to reprogram. Thanks again for the info!
