We have an S8700 with multivantage software enabled and are interested in getting IP setup for some salesp people. The C-Lan is already installed and programmed. I would like to thank everyone in advance for responding. The cabinets are MCC cabinets. We have IPSI boards connecting our other locations. Does it matter what carrier I install the MedPro board in? I have been researching the administration of the IP MedPro and it seems straight forward. Anything they don't tell you in the documentation? I'm familiar with Definity,et al. Any programming through the web interface or just ASA (IP Node-names, IP-interface< etc)? Do I need a MedPro board installed in each carrier (1A,1B, etc) or Node (1A, 2A, 3A, etc)? Thanks in advance, once again.

Sorry guys. I meant the TN2302 MedPro Board. The 2312 is the IPSI board.

The MedPro is a dynamically allocated system resource. The board is capable of supporting up to 64 un-compressed conversations or 32 compressed conversations. Since the board is capable of running at 100 Mbs, there is a backplane wiring harness that should be installed. It contains ferite coile to reduce interference. As far as administration goes, you have the bases covered. First add the node-name, then the IP-interface, and finally the data module.

The only precaution I have seen is not to install the medpro in the middle slots, slot 10 I think, atleast in the older carriers. Apparently it doesn't supply all the voltage they need. Other than that, you only need one medpro for every 64 simultanious ip calls. I'm not familiar with the 8700's web interface, but it's pretty easy to setup with asa.

you do not need the webinterface. just administer it with asa and it will work (node-names and ip-interface)

That's funny I've had my MedPro installed in slot B-10 for almost 2 years and my IP Softphones are working fine. I have a SUPER old carrier. We had much trouble at the beginning of our VoIP installation and one of the fixes was to move the MedPro board into another carrier but a slot # was never recommended. (Moving the board didn't solve our issue though).
