Anybody else having problems with running TiVo Desktop on Windows 7?

My previous version (2.6.2) of TiVo desktop did not require the Apply Bonjour Service. The latest version does.

On the old version I encountered problems where the TiVo slideshow could not see all of my published pictures. So I decided to upgrade to the latest version.

So now I am running version 2.7 and the Bonjour Service blue screens my system. Anybody else having this problem?

I hope you find this post helpful.

Try your luck over here where the exact same question is under discussion.

Windows 7 Beta with Tivo Desktop?

Personally I'd go down the compatibility mode path.

These would be guides for that.

How to troubleshoot a program that does not run as expected after it is installed on Windows Vista

Make older programs run in this version of Windows

If no luck there you could try Virtual PC.

Thanks Linney, unfortuantley both Bonjour and TiVo Desktop run as services and to the best of my knowledge, there is no way to run a service in compatibility mode. :-(

I did post in the TiVo Community forum though. Will see if anyone there is experiencing the same issue as me.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

I guess the Services might have to be taken care of by running the actual Setup in the relevant compatibility mode at install time, or finding the (service).exe via Services and getting the path to the exe for the Service and changing the compatibility mode on that (it is possible). That last only holds true for non-Microsoft services.
