Good Afternoon,

I have a phone report from notepad. When I paste the report into Excel, the time of call column is automatically formated as time of day.

Example: 2:48 (as in 2 minutes & 48 seconds) shows up as 2:48 AM in the formula bar.

Any ideas how to format this so I can run calcs of the time of calls?

Hi,

2:48 will ALWAYS be interpreted by Excel as Hours & Minutes.

Assuming that your time is in A1, you will have to recalculate the data to
[tt]
=IF(A1<1/24,A1-1/24,A1)
[/tt]
:)

Thanks for your prompt response Skip. However if I use your formula and 2:48 is in A1, I get .12?

ah HA!!!

2:48 IS .12 of a day!

Just format that cell with a TIME format!

BTW, ALL times are just numbers between zero and one. ALL dates are just numbers greater than 1, 1 being 1/1/1900.

:)
