Hi,

I am currently working on a simple document retrieval system that indexes documents, stores the images as tif's then after choosing the relevant image, click on image name and up pops a display.......

But tif's don't seem to work with VB?? Or am I doing something wrong. I have used the Kodak objects before for something similar, but these don't come with Windows XP any more....

Does anyone have any suggestions where I can start looking?

Or is it a case of reformating the tif to a bmp/jpg for viewing, though I imagine this is a little tricky...

Thanks

Jamie

The information for this used to be in Kodak developer's discussion forum. Now they seem to have discarded them.

Have you tried google.
Here is the relevant part from an old discussion. You need a pc with OS Win 2k or older. Check with it.

Copying Installed Files
Copy the following files from the \Windows\System directory (\System32 in NT):

Windows 98/ME/NT
IMGADMIN.OCX
IMGCMN.DLL
IMGEDIT.OCX
IMGSCAN.OCX
IMGSHL.DLL
IMGTHUMB.OCX
OIADM400.DLL
OICOM400.DLL
OIDIS400.DLL
OIFIL400.DLL
OIGFS400.DLL
OIPRT400.DLL
OISLB400.DLL
OISSQ400.DLL
OITWA400.DLL
OIUI400.DLL If you will need fax support for IfW, also copy these files:

AWCODC32.DLL
AWDCXC32.DLL
AWDENC32.DLL
AWKRNL32.DLL
AWRESX32.DLL
AWVIEW32.DLL
XFILEXR.DLL

Copy these files from \Windows\Help:

Windows 98/ME/NT
IMGVIEW.CHM
IMGHELP.CNT
IMGHELP.HLP
IMGOCXD.CNT
IMGOCXD.HLP
IMGTASKS.CHM

Copy these application files from \Windows:

Windows 98/ME/NT
KODAKIMG.EXE
KODAKPRV.EXE

Registering OCX Files
After you install Windows XP (and copy all the IfW DLLs and OCXs to \system32), you will need to register the ActiveX controls (OCX files). The easiest method is to use the Start | Run facility and execute the statement:

regsvr32 imgadmin.ocxDo this for each of the four OCX files listed above. This should allow you to run wangimg.exe or kodakimg.exe and kodakprv.exe, as well as using the controls in the demonstrations in my ImageEditor workspace or in your own applications. Good luck.
