Hi

I am trying to create a tieline that is not PRI but T1 e&m (a-b-bit ) signiling.

I have been trying to configure a nt5d12 with no luck.

any advice?

Chris

that card will work except in the 11 of course. what problem are you having?

I have tried so many configurations, but i get an error message somthing like "loop overload" when i try to inable in LD60.

When i disable in LD 60, somtimes it will give ERR 20 over and over until the switch locks up.

Tried a new NT5D12 as well as swaping with an existing card, and that card seems to be fine.

I have been reading the manuals for days and can find anything.

I have nbot done a D4 (a-b bit) type signaling trunk in an opt61 in many years, and never with this card. I have lots of PRI bot none of these.

I hope this gives you more information.

Chris

Please see below for further information.

At the bottom is what happens when i enable the loop.

Thanks again

Chris

If i stat in ld 30 i get the following.

I have replaced with a new NT5D12 as well as swaped with working cards.

I doubt the card is bad but i must have a bad configuration.

Chris

bad card, bad cable.. not a soft issue.. have you tried it without the t1 plugged in? maybe a loopback.. it is in the cequ as a trk and not a pri?

error 20's seem to say it's not in the cequ at all, but since you added trunks it almost has to be..

The cards are good, tried a new one, swaped it with another working one. The only cable is the cable to the T1.

It actually came up for a little wile, however i disabled it (LD 60 disl 28) and got repeated (anout 30 times) err020 messages and then the switch locked up.

It dose the same with any card. All cards work fine in Loop 18/19

Now this is over my head, but is there any common cards that could have an effect?

Chris

SIGL EM4 Can you do this on a T1?

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

you don't want a PRI, but why did you built it as PRI?

your dlop is saying you built it as PRI

and post the cequ for that loop. the only cable is the pri?.. that card requires a cable between the faceplate and the rear of the switch.. i would unplug everything from the faceplate and try to bring it up. the connector on the faceplate that looks like a pri connection could be a clock imput... someone correct me if i'm thinking of the wronge card

The cable is the T1 cable.

The problem was very obscure; I utilize unused channels on T1's that are used to carry broadcast audio. I use a drop and insert to take the unused channels to the PBX.

In this case I used a different piece of equipment to accomplish this task as the broadcast gear claimed to do the drop and insert now.

My initial checks showed that it did as I only checked the channels I was to use.

The unused channels should have been idle by the drop and insert equipment, but they where not.

They contained data that the switch could not understand.

When I would enable or disable the LOOP the PBX seemed to test the card or the T1 or both and thought that the card was bad due to the extra data on the un-programmed channels.

It was shocking to see that a T1 error would bring the switch down.

Thanks to everyone for their help in this matter.

Chris

i've seen simular.. so you were hitting those unused channels with ?.. don't take offense with my post, we have people posting here with almost zero hardware exp.. my 1st thought is to bring one up to a loop back.. i never assume it's not the ckt.. it's usually the one thing i didn't program... 20 years ago i had a single bad digital card bring down a nortel.. tech support at the time said it was impossible.. i also had a bad analog card bring down a loop last year.. you had to be getting something all the way to the common bus OR broadcast flood blocked normal switch operations

i use the first 14 channels of the T1 as follows, 1-9 are a broadscat quality audio, this utilises 64k clear channel, and all 9 channels to get 20 KHZ audio and as you know the ABCD bits are bit robed from the 64K, thus they ehere toggeling on and off constantly at a very high rate.

The next four are bit robbed E&M so they had no effect.

The facility tested good as all other services worked.

I connected a DATS test set and simulated calls to the other switch and was able to process calls normaly on all trunks. As there was no BVP or crc6 errors, i assumed the T1 was good.

I by accedent set the DATS test set to ch 1 and saw the data, thus my clue.

I disabled the broadcast circut in the direction twards the PBX and the problem wenr away.

So now i have to deal with the vendor of the Broadcast equiptment this week.

Thanks again.

Chris

I have another issue for a new thread.
