I have a couple of question regarding migrating from NT 4 Server to Server 2003. If the NT 4 PDC was upgraded to Windows Server 2003 but shortly after the upgrade there are issues because of the upgrade, what would happen if the 2003 server were shut down and an NT BDC server was promoted to PDC? Would all former NT functionality be regained or would things be slightly different because the 2003 server had been able to replicate?

There shouldn't be a problem, the best way would be to build a NT4 BDC then take it offline while you try the new 2003 server, if it all goes wrong start the BDC and promote it.

Depends what the issues are. You will be doing a migration where the 2003 server will be setup in a new domain. As part of the process, you can use the ADMT tool to also migrate across all workstations in your NT domain to the 2003 domain. This way, users can log into the new domain and still retain settings etc.

If they have started using this new profile and you want to go back to the NT domain - You may have some issues workstationwise. You should have the ability to log into your old domain though (means you lose changes to the new profile).

TO be honest, I have done many migrations from NT to win2k and win2003 and the ADMT tool works extremely well. It also has a "virtual" migration you can run through to see if there are any issues.
