The VFP8R.DLL file is invalid or damaged

I am just trying out installation of a VFP executable created with VFP8 after having previously had no problem with VFP7.

I built the project using InstallShield as before and used the VFP8 merge module.

The installation worked fine under Windows XP and the application ran as it should.

However, in Windows 98 (on 2 separate machines) the message: "The VFP8R.DLL file is invalid or damaged" appears and the application will not run.

I have checked that the file exists using Windows Explorer: it has the same date-stamp and file size as the original.

I am using version 3.03 of InstallShield Express (VFP Limited edition) rather than the later one supplied with VFP8. I tried the later one on the exisiting VFP7 projects I had but the licensed version of DynaZip I use then stopped working.

Has anyone come across this message before or any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

Thanks in advance

John

Thanks for the prompt reply, Rick.

I have just double-checked the CD files created with InstallShield and find that there is no GDIPLUS.DLL included. This is despite the fact that the GDI Plus Redist module is included in the IS project and I thought this included GDIPLUS.DLL.

Would you reckon if I add the DLL to the project as a separate file that all should be well? I can't test it on a 98 machine until after the weekend.
