The story of the invisible Calendar entry..........

Hi all,

When one of our users enters a calendar entry (any entry, it's completely random), it dissappears after a few minutes use of Outlook. This only happens on one entry and only every now and then, but it's still proving to be troublesome. Here's the odd part, when trying to enter a new appointment that will overlap the (now invisible) appointment, it warns the user that it will overlap an existing appointment. So the question. If it's really there, why can't we see it? This has everyone here stumped so if anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

what flavor and version of Outlook are you using?

Sorry, Outlook 98, hooking up to Exchange 5.5

There some outlook 98 command line switches that perform "some" maintenance on calendar files etc.

Take a look at this MS site... it may help.

Does it matter which Calendar view is being used or does is show up blank in all three views? If she shares the Calendar out to you can you see the missing appointment? Is the sensitivity of the appointment being changed from Normal to something else by the user when being entered?

I had a similar problem and fixed this issue by selecting the users email's that receive the updates and checking the box Send in Rich Text format. Don't know if this will solve your problem but give it a try.

I'd suggest disabling calendar caching. That has always fixed the problem of missing Outlook 98 appointments at my company. See
