Help.... On all of my Vista boxes, I get the error "The specified network password is not correct error" when I attempt to install software from a network share... I can map the share successfully, read/write to share as well... I am certain that I am using the correct password (verified by logging in via XP) even down to the domain\share and domain\username formats... I have also tried the run as administrator option (which needs the administrator account enabled to work - disabled by default under Vista) I do know that I can lower NTLM Authentication, but even that doesn't work consistently... I am using Vista Business with Volume Licensing...

Thnxs in advance...

I look in the mirror and what do I see...

If you are having a problem connecting to a remote share, and are receiving the following error "The specified network password is not correct", first verify that the passwords are in fact correct. Second, verify that the system clocks on both machines are correct. You may see this error message if the clocks are not in synch.
You may also be told that the account is locked. Unlock the account on the machine you are connecting to via Computer Management".

yeah, I was reading a post with the exact same response... Hence me saying that all pwords have been confirmed... I can access the shares using XP, the clocks are synched +/- 30 seconds and the issue persists...

Thnxs, but any other ideas...

Ideas, but no solutions.

Can you add the Share (IP Address) as a Trusted or Intranet Site to your Browser?

If you right-click on the Properties of the Install program is there any such box at the bottom of the Properties with the title "Unblock"?

Delete and create the Share again, check Share Permissions and the normal NTFS Permissions.
