The policy object does not exist

I created a group policy for our library computers. The group policy works on all computers except one, windows XP pro with SP2. When using gpresult, I receive this message "The policy object does not exist".

The computer joined the domain, and can access LAN resources and the internet without any issues. The DNS setup is correct and nslookup looks good. What should we troubleshoot this issue?

Run a "gpupdate /force" from a command prompt on that PC. See if it helps.

...and make sure your DNS settings on that XP machine are correct.

When using gpresult to check the group policy on a workstation, you may receive this error: “INFO: The policy object does not exist”.
