The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the device

I am getting this on my server then there are no events logged in the event viewer and finally the server crashes and needs to be restarted. The time between the disk error and crash varies, sometimes it can be hours and other times days.

I have ran the chkdsk /f tool but it did not find anything, I have ran the system diagnostic tools and they have not found anything. The hard disks look OK and nothing else seems to be obviously wrong.

Is this a case of reinstalling the operating system or is there anything else I can try?

Juniper, I had ran into a similar situation a couple of weeks ago. I would recommend that you run CHKDSK /F /P while in Recovery Console mode. Run chkdsk enough times to ensure that it comes back clear of errors and NOT "Chkdsk has found error and has corrected them"
It might happen that after a reboot some system files may be deleted after the chkdsk process, so you may need to run Windows Setup->Repair in order to bring your Windows environment back to its normal running state.
Hope this helps.

Im afraid that was no good, it looks like a rebuild jobby but i feel that the backups may not be good as the OS was corrupted so the backup copies would corrupted...
