it depends on your budget, you don't need anything more than a gamers card, thats what I use and I'm happy with it ( I have a geforce 2mx dual display) two screens are very handy for doing 3d
you can't just use any ol' gaming card, the video processing that happens in rendering is different than the real-time rendering that happens with games via their engine.
