We had an old Windows 2000 box set up as our TFTP server which crashed - we have a Windows XP box now ready to go but can not find the TFTP software needed to load on it. Any suggestions were we can get this? Thanks.

Google solar winds and download their free tftp server

X2 on phoneguy55's suggestions, or if you are very lazy, SolarWinds or 3CDAEMON. AVAYA's application is far better, but more work to setup... but worth it in the long run.

x3, I agree with Mitch and phoneguy...I use the Avaya software and it works well for me. It wasn't that hard to setup, and I feel I have more control over what is happening with the IP phones.

But doesn't the Avaya one only run as an app, and Solarwinds runs as a service?

The mviptel runs as a service
I think it is great
And indeed it need 5 minutes of configuring (first time)

Thanks for all the input. Got the TFTP server up and running with the Avaya software. Is there anyway to test to make sure it is working? It shows "ready".

Reboot an ipphone :)

You can test it with a single phone by configuring the ip address of the new tftp server on that phone and not change the dhcp scope where you should have the ip address of the old server under the TFTPSRVR parameter.

Once you tested on a single phone, update your DHCP scope with the new ip and will be available for the others phones on their reboot.
