Hi everybody. I have been researching two TFTP/Firmware/IP Set questions. I wanted to see if anyone had answers or some ideas to help me figure this stuff out.

My questions are:
1) Is it possible to disable an IP set from checking for new firmware after every reset? We are looking at this to improve reset times after a C-LAN, Network, etc. failure where it is probably not necessary to go through that part of the reset cycle.

2) And, on a related note, is it possible to "push" firmware to IP sets rather than them pulling it? Thus giving more control over downloads and traffic (and making the IP set checking for the firmware after each recycle unnecessary).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I guess both are not possible.4600 series phones always checks for the new firmwares everytime it starts. There is no wayof pushing rather pulling.

ctr999,

46xx phones use a script file called '46xxupgrade.scr' or '46xxupgrade.txt' to determine whether it needs to upgrade its firmware or not. if you remove this file from your tftp server or just rename it, phone will say 'tftp file error' and continue its boot sequence. when you need to upgrade your phones to new firmware, place it on your tftp server, rename script file back to '46xxupgrade.scr' and reboot the phones.
