Crystal 8 (maybe doesn't happen in newer versions)
This is just a minor annoyance so it's not a big deal to me. But when I'm typing in a text object the character spacing looks like it should. When the object looses focus or is previewed, the character spacing is different. This causes extra lines in multi-line paragraphs and words look funny. For example the word "employee" sometimes shows the "y" almost merged with the "e" and sometimes not. It happens on all other words too but that is just one example that is the more noticable. It's inconsistant so if I type/copy the same word over and over it looks different from one to the next.
I've tried different fonts with the same results, although some are less noticable. The font I am using is Times New Roman (Western). Character spacing is set to 0. Is there a setting I'm missing? Has anyone else noticed this? Most reports don't have more than a word or 2 in text objects, so many of you may have never noticed this. If anyone uses ver 8 could you let me know if you see the same thing, or maybe even other versions. It's like crystal is trying to create its own character spacing instead of leaving the font specific spacing alone. I could just find a font that looks the best and leave it alone, but that would be too easy
.
Thanks,
Tom
