Text fields

I am building a site with lots of text fields which looks fine on my PC, but when I view it on some others, especially lap-tops, the text fields are far to big. Is there any way of stopping this from happening? - is it a problem with my code or the other PC.

Different browers represent form items in different ways
netscape generally text boxes get bigger
use style sheets to control those
