Hi

Just a few queries about licening

I just bought win 2003 and setup Terminal Server , i also purchased 20 TS User Cals and 20 TS device Cals.
Because i though you could you them in mixed mode?

But looking @ the TS you can only set it as Device or user?

The reason i bought 20 of each is that i have x amount of users using the same machines and also have 1 user per machine as well.

Can any shed any light on this, coz my boss wont be happy if i have to fork out for about another 20 user licences.

We usually buy Device Cal's. If you have 20 machines in your office but 40 users that share the same computer at different times then this is what you want. I would say if you how many computers or laptops you want connecting to the server is how many device cals you would need. I would send back the User Cals and get how many ever device Cals you will need.

i ahve spoken to my supplier and he's away to ask microsoft if i can swap, my 20 ts users cals for 20 ts device cals


which would give me 40 TS Device Cals,

but i have already actived them on eopen
