Terminal Services User Profiles

Hi. Win 2k server, terminal services. I have created a share on terminal server (it is a domain controller -- no choice) pointed in the terminal services profile page to user profile share \\servername\share\%username%. Domain policy that deletes local cache.

A profile is created on the documents and settings folder on terminal server before a folder is created on the server. Don't want the space on the local server. Is there a way around this. Local server profiles show them as roaming.

I also need to REALLY lock down the profile for a few of the users (right now the tools on the server are there and everything) looking for clues on how to do this without shutting down other members of that group...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Is it possible also that I can remove the profile that is on the C: drive of the terminal server after the profile is on the share and it won't be re-created?

it automatically loads the profile onto the terminal server then when you are done it moves the profile to the share. I dont think there is anyway around this

you can lock down certain members by making sure that group policy applies to them and then deny it to the other members.

Hi!

thank you for your kind response. I am hoping then that this domain controller (which will also hold the licensing server starting as soon as they come) will NOT get the local copy of the profiles for the OTHER terminal server that will reside in the domain... that it will reside on that server and I can build a little larger system partition on that server. Plans changed a little and we are using terminal services on this machine more than originally planned. If I lock it down so nobody is saving documents or browsing the internet hopefully the profiles will remain small.

Thanks again for your info. I will look into the DENY options.
