Hi All

I have installed a test server with win2k3 Standard server, ISA Server and Exchange 2000.

All is going well, clients can connect trough the server and surf the web. Mail is retrieved (with a pop connector) and send (forward to smtp server).

Now I'm trying to connect to the server using terminal services. But all is failing.

When I launch telnet to port 3389 from a client I get Connection failed.

If I try to telnet to port 3389 on the server itself (internal IP address or 127.0.0.1) I also get Connection failed.

Using RDS from a windows XP workstation on the internal network I get: Remote Desktop Disconnected.

The Terminal service is running and I don't get anything in the eventlog.

Can anyone point me to some things I could check?
Tnx
Roel

On 2003 server, turning on terminal services from the control panel turns on application mode termincal services. From there you have to install and register a license server before the time period runs out.

If you are just looking to use remote admin, right click on my computer, go to properties, then to the remote tab. Put a check in the "allow users to connect remotely to this computer" box. This is the equivalent of remote admin mode.

Tnx micronmega

It is indeed the remote admin function that I was looking for. I'll try to change that setting!

Could it be that TS is enabled by default on win2k? Because it is the first time I have to do this (first time to install win2k3).
