I hope someone can help with this. Terminal services was installed on a Windows 2003 Enterprise server in Application Server Mode. I now want to take it back to Remote Administration Mode. I've tried de-installing it and re-installing it again with no joy. I don't get presented with the mode selection screen. I've ploughed through everything on MS website with no joy. I've looked around eventid.net as well with no joy.

I'm tearing my hair out (and I don't have much) to get this resolved.

All you have to do is uninstall it. What used to be called Remote Admin Mode is now installed by default. It's overwritten by the Terminal Services client when it's installed.

Through "add or remove software", "add or remove windows components", uncheck Terminal services, remove the licensing server also, this will reomove the service. Reboot the server which is necessary, then go back in to windows components and reinstall TS, not the licensing service.

I did the uninstall and that didn't seem to fix it. Then I discovered that once you uninstall the software you need to go into the System properties and enable Connections under the remote tab. What a plonker!!!
