Folks-

I am running a Dell server with Windows 2000 SE. I need help with terminal service licensing. We have 20 licenses for it. This was added by the Admin before me who no longer works here.

When I access 'Terminal Service Licensing' from the Admin tools, I see the server and it says 'Activated'. When I click on the 'server name', I see Windows 2000 Terminal Service Client Access License, total 20, available 17, installed 3. There are 3 machines/client names as well, one of which has the full license and other 2 the 90 free trail license installed on them.

I need to install this on my server because that only has 5 connections available & users are complaning about not being able to log on to do their work. I don't know how do you install these on the server and where does it show up.

Q.2) What is the 'Licensing' under 'Admin Tools'? What are those licenses for, because it says 5 Per Server Purchased over there.

Thanks for your time & help.

The server they are trying to login to is the terminal server? or is it a new server you setup to be a terminal server?

That is the terminal server for which we have 20 licenses.

The 5 licenses that you see came with the W2K server and should not have any impact on the terminal server part of the server. If your seeing the terminal server licenses and some are issued you may have a problem somewhere else. Are people not able to login to terminal server or just not able to login to the network?
