Hi there.

I have a Win2003 Terminal Server with around 40 users.

2003 Standard
2048MB RAM
Dual Xeon 2.8Ghz.

Recently users on this server are complaining of slow performance. I know this is due to RAM usage. Why does WINWORD.EXE and OUTLOOK.EXE consume around 40MB RAM each, for each user that has them open? Is there a way to fix this or is it designed this way?

the other question is, should I upgrade the RAM?

Cheers.

Not that it makes a difference to this post, but it's actually got 4 Xeons.

u want to walk on the water, 2G TS for 40 users, no, u need to switch to Citrix andor add more RAM.

TS performence sucks. u need to load balance it using sessiondirector

Thanks for replying.

I wil upgrade to 4GB.

Do you mean load balance between multiple servers or load balance the RAM between sessions?

Where can I read up on sessiondirector?
