hi,
anybody plz tell how can i install terminal server on a windows 2000 professional box, so that i can run remote desktop to login to the win 2000 prof box

I don't think Terminal Server is an option for a 2000 Pro Box. You can but the client on there (on Pro) but you need server to install Terminal Services, and licensing.

Daveyboy2 is right, you can only run Terminal Server on 2000 Server, not Pro. Believe me, I've tried it before. Copying the administrative tools off a Server CD onto the Pro box does not work as someone once led me to believe. You can only run the Terminal Client on Pro.

You can use VNC. It's a free remote desktop software from AT&T labs. It's quite popular amongst administrators, especially those who still have Windows NT Server.

There is also RAdmin, but I've never used that one.

Ooh! Free remote desktop software! Thanks for the tip ReddLefty! I have to check this one out. You get a star!
