Im having a problem with logging onto my server2003 running terminal server with a new account. I went to Microsoft website and found the Q article below, but it didn't resolve my problem.

I was wondering if anyone has ran into this problem???

SYMPTOMS

If you are not an administrator, and you attempt to use the Remote Desktop Connection tool, you may receive the

following error message:

The local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the user account is not a member of the local Remote Desktop Users group.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, add allowed users to the Remote Desktop Users list:

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click System, and then on the Remote tab, click Select Remote Users. Click Add type in the user account name, and then click OK.

It is saying you do not have access to logon. If you go into Right Mouse click on My Computer->Manage than go into users and groups and choose groups and on the right side of list you will see Remote Users. Add your account in that group and your problem will be fixed.

yes i know that i don't have access to logon and when i followed the q article there is no place to add my account. Under where Remote Desktop i have a check box with Allow users to connect remotly.....

I have a machine with 2003 Enterprise Edition, I go into Computer Management -> Local Users And Groups -> Groups and on the right pane I see Remote Desktop Users. OPen that group and add your account in there. Once I did that, people were able to log on. Hope that helps you out

Try add new account to "Administrators" group. If it help, than may be your server in Remote Administration mode. In this mode only Administrators group members able connect to server over terminal services.
