I have a win2k sp4 terminal server running in application mode using ie6 sp1 for internet access behind MS ISA server 2000.
When a new user who has never logged onto the terminal server before runs a TS client session and tries to access the internet they get the standard 'page cannot be displayed' message. Not even a message from ISA server. Almost as if proxy had not been set.
If that user logs off the client session then logs onto the console they can now access the internet (no change to anything) from either the console or the TS client session.
It seems that the simple act of logging directly onto the console clears the problem (or sets up additional parameters) for the user profile.
A further point to make is that I have set up four other servers, all with terminal services, with no problem accessing the internet. The only difference is that they are all in Remote Administration Mode....Go Figure!
It is not the biggest problem in the world..now, but caused me no end of grief during the setup as I was trying to isolate where the problem started. It all seems to be when the server goes into Application mode for Terminal Services.
I would very much appreciate someone else's opinion and/or help on this.
