Is there any way to use Teranova with the new CM3. I like Teranova and would like to continue to use it. Has anyone got this to work without a Data Module

Thanks in Advance

The problem with using Terranova with any of the newer Avaya products is the port numbering. Terranova only goes up to port 23. Avaya insists, that for security, ports 5000 and up be used.

I used the 5000 ports with Terranova all of the time.

My guess is they quit distributing it (Avaya Terminal Emulator) because it doesn't support SSH.

you can edit a file which terranova uses and on which the ports are defined. if i only could remember the file name :-(

Edit the devices file in the devices folder. Add the port and give it a name like SAT.

Does CM3 allow simple telnet connections ?
I think it only accepts ssh on port 22 now.

My advise: use Putty ( free ) which is much better than Terranova, which is quite old now.

zjo,

cm3 does accept telnet connections. ssh is preferred, though.

I did find and edited the devices files. This will let me connect. However the front end program will not connect via telnet. This means that all the good stuff like find all members using a specific coverage path ETC does not work. Avaya/Lucent left the good stuff out of ASA.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
