Template updating site

I need help. I opened my main template and through behaviors added some sounds to some buttons and menus in the NON Content areas of the template. I then saved the template and updated files that were based on it in the site located locally on harddrive. In my root folder there are my sub-folders of other html files, sounds, pics, flash, etc. and directly in root is the index.htm file. The index.htm file now has sounds where I put them in the buttons and menus but other htm files based on template do not have these same sound behaviors that I assume the index.htm gained when I saved template after changes and updated dependent files also based on template. Why did only the index.htm get new behaviors and not other htm files?
How do I Pass these changes to the other htm pages in my site that are based on this same template?
A newbie who has tried everything I can think of! Please anyone?
