I think this might be my own fault for not knowing what I wanted to do properly in the first place, but it's my first go on dreamweaver so i think i can be forgiven...
I've created loads of files from one template that had a cell for text to go in.
Each page has a different amount of text so the cell changes size, which was creating problems for me making cells around it like a border as I couldn't get these to change size.
I've since found out that it's easier to make the background, and the 'border' cells that went around the text cell by inserting HTML code for a table that does all this.
I've managed to nest the table (which already has border cells) in the cell & moved the text from the (original) cell into the middle of this table.
In my template this is fine as there was no text in the text cell & the border cells of the table have stayed in place.
BUT in all of the linked files the right hand border has disappeared and the left one is double the size.
Is there a way to rectify this problem?
I don't actually understand HTML by the way - I just pasted some into DW that was given to me.
