Most of our switch dial in is thru Teltronics SEB's. Since we have stared using newer Dell Conexant D110 mdc v.92 modems we have been experiancing freeze when performing translations etc in the pbx. We use Procomm as the emulation software.
We have no problems when using an external US Robotics 56 or 33.6 modem nor with our older Tosiba laptops using a v.90 modem.
Has anyone experianced the same problems connecting with the newer dell modems and have you found any solutions?

Here is a suggestion another user tried and it worked using procomm and a Dell Conexant modem.

Set your baud rates between 1200 and 9600
Parity - None, Stop bits - 1, Data bits - 8
Turn off Error correction and compression

The final trick is to reduce the FIFO buffers on receive and transmit to 1 (their lowest)

To change the FIFO buffers go into the properties of the Conexant > advanced tab > advanced port settings.

There are two slide bars which both need to be on the far left (based on Win XP)

You will notice that the performance of the modem drops slightly, so remember to reset FIFO if you use the modem for other purposes as well.

My company had the same issues when we switched to the Dell Inspiron laptops. I have tried the setting changes that Jamie2 has suggested and they have helped the connection issues some. The only sure fix I found was to use an external USR modem. That one works evey time.

If you do find something else please post the results.

Thank You,
Mike
