I'm using WinXP Pro to run a Tribes2 Server. The server runs fine, but I cannot telnet to it. When I try to telnet into the server's configured telnet port, telnet simply hangs/crashes (blank screen, no response from Telnet).

I've tried using telnet, as well as an adminstration tool (TriCon) with no success.

I've tried opening the specific port with the firewall settings, but leaving all port open or opening that specific port does not change the behavior.

Any help would be appreciated

Ensure that Telnet Server is started and configured to listen on port 23. If that is not possible, specify the configured port after the host name when connecting.

Use open hostname portnumber to establish a Telnet connection to a host. If you found this helpful let us know by voting below.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried that in the past and it doesn't matter -- I can connect to the telnet server on port 23, but not the the telnet server run by the game server, that's where I get the 'crashed' telnet session.

Whose Tribes2 Server is it? If neither telnet nor TriCon don't work you may need to contact them to resolve the issue. If you found this helpful let us know by voting below.
