I am using SCO 5.05 and 5.07 I would like to be able to telnet to another SCO unix box without prompting to user name and password?

Sounds like a job for rlogin, .rhosts. Try a keyword search in this forum for some ideas.

Thanks Ken
yes rlogin works, but for the purpose of what i am traying to do. i want a diffrent user to log in to diffrent systems there are about 48 diffrent server.

i did see the telnet auto log in but I can not remember where.

there is a utility called "expect" (skunkware?) that can script a telnet session.

Doesn't have rlogin a [-b]-l[/b] option ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

If you use ssh, generate rsa keys, and have the keys set up on the various servers, you can write a script that will do an ssh user@server. This way they won't be prompted for login or password.
