Good Afternoon

If I have an IP Base System I can call VoIP and Digital correct?
If I have TDM I could install an IP Trunk and call VoIP correct?

I need a reason to install an IP Base System
Thanks

You can call analog to TDM to IP... shouldn't matter.

But your post is lacking details. IP Base System? What's that? What manufacturer?

I'm with nessman not really sure what you're asking and why you need a reason for an IP system? You can pretty much connect any trunk or device to either system using gateways if needed. I have a TDM running voip and TDM circuits and I have a IP system doing the same.

IP lines, IP trunks, digital lines, and digital trunks can all be interconnected. Systems that are IP-based have gateways to connect to digital. Systems that are digital-based have gateways to connect to IP.

With original TDM only PBX voice system you would not be able to LAN connect and make network calls. You would have to upgrade to IP base server reusing/connecting to original PBX. LAN connect the new server and create IP trunk route. An IP trunk is just a route that allows calls to be routed over the WAN.

IP based systems can be LAN connected allowing IP trunking and can interface with digital T1 trunks. Also, most IP servers reside in a gateway that allows for digital and analog set integration.

You can keep digital phones, system is LAN connected and can be IP trunked with rest of phones being IP.

What system do you have now? Make, mode, software release?

Yes - older systems need to be upgraded to the latest software (7.65) in order to add IP licenses to them - and in many cases you'll need to upgrade hardware that will support 7.65. In most cases - a Linux base processor card (depending on what cabinets you have) the call server may be separate or may be co-resident with the Linux base processor card. 61c or 81c systems will have split processors for redundancy.
