I have a Windows 2003 Standard Server that won't connect via VPN. This has worked previously but hasn't been used for a while. I am getting the error:
TCP/IP CP reported error 31: A device attached to the system is not functioning.
I know the server is good as I have verified with other clients. I have enabled logging on the Server (that is the client....) and in the RASIPCP.LOG file I am seeing the following:
I can see in the logs on the VPN server that it is authenticating OK and negotiating an IP address OK but fails immediately after this.
I have removed and re-added the Intel NIC, I have ensured I am running the latest Intel drivers (although I think this is a TCP/IP issue). I have also googled TCP/IP CP error 31 and found lots of posts but no resolutions.
This is really getting me down, as I have already had to rebuild a RAS server this week and I don't want to rebuild this server as there is loads of stuff on it........
Anyone please?
Andy
