I have NT4 server with SP6 installed. Ive read many posts in these forums saying that task scheduler is included with SP6, however I do not have it. Is it actually only supplied with 6a?
It should be there cause i am having windows nt 4 server with service pack 4 nad i m able to see the service.
I think on your server it should be named as "Schedule" or "Schedular"
cause
The installation of the Offline Browsing Pack, a component of Internet Explorer 5, on a computer running Windows NT 4.0 replaces the Schedule service with the Task Scheduler service.
one odd thing here. The server is running IE5, which should replace ATSVC.exe with MSTASK.exe, this is not the case, there's no trace of mstask, and atsvc is still rearing it's head.
Any thoughts?
while installing I.E. 5 have to done the costumised installation and did u selected the option "OFFline browsing pack". If you have not selected that option then this atsvc.exe will not get replace .
You can fix this problem by reinstalling the I.E. 5.5
