I'm new. In Windows Me, I set up a schedule to run my defrag, scan disc,disk cleaner and Norton antivirus scan. Under scheduled tasks, I have start using task scheduler selected. None of the scheduled tasks are running as scheduled. Sometimes, when I boot up WinMe, I get a message stating--"Some tasks did not run at scheduled times because the task scheduler service was not running". When I check the task scheduler, it seems to have turned off by itself. Can anyone help. I want to upgrade to XP as I seem to have so many problems with WinMe. Any help appreciated. I recently lost everything due to a virus and want to keep my computer cleaned up.

Windows Me can be a very good OS once you get it tweaked up and the best way to do this is to follow as many of Trev's tweaks as you feel comfortable with.
