I have a win xp home box, and the task manager won't start. It never has. so it's not something new.
ctrl+alt+del does nothing, and right clicking the task bar and selecting task manager does nothing.
Any ideas?

Make sure you have Taskmgr.exe in your System32 folder.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

got it, it was not in the system32 folder. Don't know how that happened. But i just copied it from another pc and it works. Thanks people.

All the more reason to run SFC /Scannow. I mean what else might be missing!
