Hi there everyone..

I've got a strange problem, and I honestly can't explain when or what I did to get here (because I use the Task manager so rarely). Recently, I had to try and close an application.. When I hit CTRL-ALT-Delete and chose Task Manager, it came up showing the processes that are running, and did not have the top portion.

I don't have the tabs for Applications and Performance, nor do I have the menu or the close. In order to close it, I have to right click on the icon in my system tray and close it there. I can't even minimize it to the system tray.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Patrick.

Do you mean that the top portion of the task manager has gone off the screen as oppesed to dissappeared?
Let me know if its gone of the screen

You are in "Tiny Footprint" or "Focused" view.

Double click the grey border anywhere to flip between the regular view and the tiny footprint.

No, what I mean is it's disapeared. If it had just gone off of the screen, I'd use the right click on it's name in the taskbar.
When I look down at the taskbar, the box that would have it's name is completely blank also.

I've uploaded a screenshot done in rtf format at this site.

It's 2.81MB (just in case you're on dialup).

Thanks for any help you can give me.
Patrick.

Thanks bcastner.. I clicked on the grey area, and it fixed it..lol Now, if only I could remember when I put it that way..
I gave you a star for that, since it solved the problem right off.
Patrick.

Please double click on the frame of the task manager window. Can you change
it?

Kippy,
I gave you a star also, because you basically suggested the same thing that bcastner did. So, if I would have followed either of your suggestions, it would have worked.
Thanks for the help
Patrick.

Thanks Patrick,
bcastner was in there ahead of me.
Glad to be of help.
