Hi Guys,

I've been trying the whole day to install ezPhone delux TAPI phone on my PC but beside it gone to my nerves I haven't been able to run it successfully. "LINE OPEN ERROR" over and over again.

Let me tell you what have I used. I've tried with an ipLDK20 system. I have Demo Keys On so I just wanted to work this out so I can test call centre features.
I have LDP-7016D digital phone equipped with LDP-7000CTI (Computer-Telephone-Integration) option. I've connected the digital line from the ipLDK20 to the LDP-7016D and another cable from RJ-11 outlet of the CTI module attached to the phone to the serial port of the PC.

I have installed TSP driver to my PC (version LG-Nortel TSP (3.1Df)), and set it as ipLDK20 System, 1st Party Connection/RSG and LAN with an ip address of the ipLDK20 as Connecton method.

Then I've installed ezPhone (version eZ Phone (3.7Ag)but whatever i try it's "Line Open Error".

Does anyone has any experience on how to setup 1st party ezPhone? What am I missing here?

Thanks and Cheers,
Ivo

In the phone and modem options, you should remove the
‘Telephony Service Provider for LDK’ and install it again.
(If you changed system IP address or others, you should remove and add ‘Telephony Service Provider for LDK’ for stable connection with system.)

Licenses should be checked with [TRANS/PGM]+78 and 79.

Hope that this helps.

Hi Doktor,

I have checked what you've pointed. My TSP driver reads " Telephony Service Provider for LG-Nortel System".
Maybe I have some mistake here.

Also I've checked the demo license key. Here it what it says:

--------
maint> q d
q d
Serial Number: 010DA5ED01030105
Date: 02-30-2009
System: LDK-20
Enabled Feature:

Part07 (DEMO KEY) (35 days left)
Mac Address : 00 40 5A 29 10 33

maint>
---------
It clearly says that TAPI softphone is included in the demo key.

As I could see ipLDK20 ezPhone is connected the same way as ipLDK-50/100/300 i.e. 1st party goes through CTI module attached to a digital terminal. Aria SOHO and Nexer as I can see can connect directly i.e without need of CTI module to the digital phone. I've ran across (PGM175) in Pc Admin. In the CTI field there is an option to chose from: COM1, COM2, NET_CTI.

Anyways thanx for the support, I'll keep trying and posting about this issue.

Hi Ivo

It is OK that your TSP driver reads " Telephony Service Provider for LG-Nortel System".

If you changed system IP address or others, you should remove and add 'Telephony Service Provider for LG-Nortel System' for stable connection with system.
This means that you should mark the line " Telephony Service Provider for LG-Nortel System" - and then remove this service. After having said OK to this , you need to Install it again.
You are right with Nexer (ipLDK-24). Here you just enter the ip address of your PC in conjunction with the extension number of your phone and bingo! The ezPhone works!

I will check the programming manual to see if TAPI should be enabled with the station number (extension number).

Hi Ivo (again)

I thought it enough...

You need to activale the station "line" also with the CTI feature. This is beause a lot more signalling should be sent on the line to both the keyset and the CTI module.

CTI STATION ATTRIBUTE (PGM 123)

This sets the features/modes used when CTI module is connected at a key station. The user can use a CTI keyset with PC when the CTI station mode is set to CTI mode. (Please refer to the User’s Guide of TAPI-NT ---> see this link:

So the programming for ipLDK-100/300 is:

PGM-123 BTN-1: Determines the CTI keyset mode
0: Inactive, 1: CTI Mode, 2: At Mode
(Set to 1).
-------------------------------------------------

PGM-123 BTN-2:Determines the baud rate of the CTI keyset
0: 1200, 1: 2400, 2: 4800
(Set to the data speed of the serial port of your PC).

If you are using the CTI module to connect to your PC, then this statement is not right!:

"I have installed TSP driver to my PC (version LG-Nortel TSP (3.1Df)), and set it as ipLDK20 System, 1st Party Connection/RSG and LAN with an ip address of the ipLDK20 as Connecton method."

You should NOT choose "LAN with an ip address of the ipLDK20 as Connecton method", but the Connection method should be RS-232C (serial) with the used baudrate /8 bit data / no parity / 1 stopbit".

So, if using the CTI module:
- Select LDK-50/100/300/600 in LG-Nortel System
- Select 1st party Connection/RSG in Service Mode
- Select COM1 or COM2.

Let me hear about your success!

Hi Doktor,

I still have not succeeded to run the ezPhone successfully. I have contacted LG-Nortel about the key codes just to be sure that for ipLDK20 some ezPhone basic & deluxe are included in the demo key.

Also funny but there is no CTI STATION ATTRIBUTE (PGM 123) setting with ipLDK20. I'm still confused how it works with the TAPI application (ezPhone especially). Everything I got for now is for Aria SOHO & Nexer from one side and ipLDK50/100/300 on the other. ipLDK20 is a mystery.

I will keep looking and maybe in meantime will got some answer from LGN eventually.

I'll keep you posted about this issue.

Cheers,
Ivo

Dear Ivo

I checked my docs and found that:
CTI Attribute (PGM 123) – Not available with ipLDK20.
(This only will work for ipLDK-50/100/300/600).
So let me know, when you get some info for ipLDK-20 and TAPI.

Hi Ivo

I went throgh the manual once again...

If you are using the ipLDK PC Admin program, you should find a PGM for the TAPI setting, just after PGM131.

Station IP List for CTI – Available with only ipLDK20

This feature is available with only ipLDK20. ipLDK20 does not support CTIU for CTI link. Instead of CTIU, user can make CTI connection with LAN connection. To use this feature, user should enter the IP address of PC that user want to use CTI. For example, if user uses station 10 and IP address of his is 10.0.0.5 then you should enter the table with station 10 and IP Address 10.0.0.5.

User can enter this mapped table up to max station number of ipLDK20. But the limitation is depends on the lock key that is installed on ipLDK20. This feature was enabled from Ver.1.0Da.(In ipLDK20).

So, this look very much like ipLDK-24 (Nexer), where you used PGM125, and connected like this:

TSP settings for LG-Nortel

- Select LDK Nexer/20/ARIA SOHO in LG-Nortel System.
- Select 1st party Connection/RSG in Service Mode.
- Select LAN in Connection Method, and type IP address of LDK system.(in this case the LANU ip address).

Maybe you can use this...?

///doktor

The PGM for "Station IP List for CTI" is PGM-126.

///doktor

Maybe you can send a back-up from your ipLDK-20. Just for my reference...?

Hi Ivo

Just to sum up:

If you are using ipLDK-20 and Nexer (ipLDK-24) as PBX/KSU, then the CTI modules and CTIU cannot be used as 1st party TAPI "connector".
*
If you are using ipLDK-50/100/300/600 as PBX/KSU, then the CTI modules and CTIU can be used, as 1st party TAPI "connector".
*
Using ipLDK-20 and Nexer (ipLDK-24) as 1st party TAPI, ezPhone is recommended.
*
With the ipLDK-20 use the PGM-126 for "Station IP List for CTI".
*
With the ipLDK-24 (Nexer) use the PGM-125 for "Station IP List for CTI".
*
The "Station IP List for CTI" works in this way:

The port number for the station (e.g. port 1 for station 100) is found in the list, and the ip address for the PC associated with that station is entered in the list.
The list consists of 3 fields: Logical Port, Station Number and IP address.
Just enter the IP address in the field for the correct station.
The ip address of the ezPhone PC must be connected to a switch, that is connected to the LANU of the ipLDK-20/24.
Same scope should be used (subnet mask).
Also remember licenses for the TAPI or ezPhone.

This works alright with ipLDK-24 (Nexer).
Let me know about the ipLDK-20...

Hi Doktor,

An update on the TAPI (ezPhone) application. It worked on the ipLDK20, the same way as LDK24 or Aria Soho. I think I've messed up with TSP setup. I've reinstalled and it works good.

So summary:

Like ARIA SOHO and ipLDK-24, ipLDK-20 does not use any option module for 1st TAPI CTI connection.
For 1st TAPI CTI connection, you should program PGM 126 Station IP List.
For the station number, enter PC IP address in which ezPhone & TAPI are installed for that station number.
And PGM 108, ipLDK-20 IP address should be programmed. This admin needs system restart.
After you program PGM 108 IP address, please restart the system.
ipLDK-20 IP interface and PC IP interface are used for 1st TAPI CTI connection.

With demo lock key, you can use ezPhone.
But in case when demo lock ket is expired, then you should buy ezPhone lock key.

Cheers,
Ivo
