I have a problem with my CDR Records:

1. A Call Placed to DID #423.555.3288
2. DN 3288 answers call, talks to caller
3. DN 3288 transfers call to DN 3316
4. DN 3316 answers call, talks to caller, then terminates call

Here is CDR Record I get (public numbers changed)
X32800T0001010D000331604211048000100200000D4235551212

My CDR Record is showing only that DN 3316 talked to CLID of 423.555.1212. There is no record that DN 3288 ever spoke to that caller. I need that Call Xfer record.

I have CLS ICDA on all the sets involved and all CDR options enabled on the route. What am I missing?

How do I get a complete/tandem CDR record, showing the Xfer, for that call?

If you look back further in the CDR records you will see the Start record (S), the system outputs the info as it happens, it doesn't wait until the call it completed and they hang up.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I am not seeing any S records.

All my records start with X.

Is there something in the MDR2000 or the PBX that I have to configure to get those records?

Are you looking at the RAW Data that comes out of the PBX or something else?

I am looking at CDR that is being collected via the mdr2000.col script running on TM's Telecom Billing System. I keep txt file backups of the data TM collects from the MDR2000.

I was able to get in the MDR2000 and watch the RAW data coming from the PBX.

I get:

S 013 00 A001011 79047 04/21 13:52:38 00:00:12.0
&4235551212XXXXXX 000 000
& 000 01 2

E 028 00 A001011 3316 04/21 13:53:01 00:00:10.0
&4235551212XXXXXX 156.0.00.03 000 000
& 000 01 2

So switch is sending correct info to MDR.

Is MDR changing the records before TM's MDR2000.col script collects the records? Or is TM's MDR2000.col script changing the records before importing them into Telecom Billing?

S is a start record

E is the End record

X is a transfer recorg

There are more but I forget them as I haven't use them in years.

I don't think the MDR2000 can change anything, it's more likley the TM's programming that is wrong.

Most CDR packages can't comprehend every call record type and often settle on billing the last party involved. But many companies can easily tweak a registry entry or setting to enable another record type to be output - but it complicates the costing quite a bit. You might see if MDR can/will set the option for you. Might be worth poking around the program directory for readme files or .hlp files to see if you can make the change yourself.

Of interest, transferring can make hotel phone charges 'difficult' to collect. School dorms and lodging were big influence on the creation of CLS XFR.

If Nortels own system can't understand it's own CDR, I think where in trouble.

Hmm, I am not seeing any X records. Just S & E for Xfer calls.

The billing portion is not what I'm terribly worried about. Tracing calls is much more important to me and the Security dept. Security trumps Accounting here :)

Now the question is,

1. How do I get my pbx to output X records?
2. Does anyone have a TM Billing System collection script that will use record types S, X, E, N, Q & L? A script that would work the same way as sl1new.col with all those record types?

You can't change the PBX, it puts out the CRD records just like it's supposed to do.

If your only concerned with seeing the the calls and not the billing, you could connect the output Directly to a pc and collect the RAW Data.
