Tables snapping to the left hand side?

Please help a fledgling web designer!
I have been happily designing simple sites for a few months now using tables in Dreamweaver but I have done something (i have no idea what) and now every time I draw a layout table it snaps to the left hand side. I am also unable to move the table. I have tried unchecking snap to guides, snap to grid, guide snap to elements. This is not a nested table. I have tried everything I can think of and there doesn't appear to be anything in the Preferences that is helpful.

select and center table doesnt move it?
is this a template that you are using?
