We are a G3R 9.5 location, and had the same questions during bidding. On our old Mitel system, you could program the A,B,C,D as speed call buttons or as part of a autodial string. We had a need to keep these features -- Avaya couldn't deliver. I even faxed the info out of our Mitel manuals to Avaya for explanations. Our project leader at the time said that she "thought" that Avaya was working on a fix, but issue dropped soon after.
I can't believe that Avaya doesn't have a workaround for this, especially since they have many big government accounts, i.e. the Whitehouse, etc. that utilize "AUTOVON" services.
