I have two T1's I'm trying to turn up with Broadwing riding over Verizon backbone. What's the best practice to busy and release to get these circuits to come alive?

We worked on trying to turn up these two Ts for hours yesterday, changing trunk configuration, DS1 ... all with no success. I have been just busy out the board and releasing trying to get these Ts up but should I be doing something elese as well? Busy trunk , busy the d channel port and if so what order?

Thanks for your help!

Have they ever worked, if not Busy release won't help you. Can you paste the configuration on DS1 cards first to see if they are setup correctly..

These are brand new circuits so they have never worked previously... Here's a link to my configuration for the trunk, ds1 and sig group (I think it will be easier to read).

Thank you very much for your help!

My Verizon Long distance DS1 translation for the card is different. My Protocol is B not a. Attached is my working DS1 translations

1a2 to ip I seen it all

I made a loop back cable plugged it in, busy released the boards, unplugged and one of the circuits came up! I haven't changed to b yet. I'm calling the LEC again in about an hour. I think they have something sccrewed up or running some loops or something on these lines...

The protocol version refers to whether the circuit is configured for AT&T custom (a) or NI2 (b). Your service provider should be able to tell you which one they are using.

Best practice is to make sure that the wiring is good by placing a loopback towards them at the last possible point.

If all is good, you may need to roll the T1 before it comes into your equipment.

Also I remove the members from the trunk group until the signalling group comes into service. That way I don't have to wait for every port to busy and release. I also have had to reseat the DS1 boards in the past.

Good Luck.

So far one circuit is up with so far no problems. They are takin heavier errors all the way to the demarc patch panel. They were unable to resolve it today even after changing ports on the demarc patch panel.

Going back at it tomorrow 10AM!

Thanks for all your help!! I keep all this in mind trying to bring up the second T.
