Hey all,

I recently installed an IP Office with a PRI line for a client. Everything is working fine, except for the fact that incoming calls will last forever to get a ring, so the caller experiences long periods of silence. So I checked the SSA and for the first 15 seconds of silence I see the status of "Pre-Alerting" for the Call Status. Is there any way to reduce this pre-alerting time? Maybe one of the timers from the PRI line config? Any help will be appreciated.

Is it an IP500?? What version of software??

Who is provider?
How do you have the PRI set up? Switch type, provider etc..

need a little more info if you ask for help

Sorry, should've given everything on the first post. Thanks for the reply. Well, it's an IPO 500v2. I'm down in the caribbean our provider is Claro Codetel. The config I'm using is:

Line SubType: T1
Framing: ESF
Zero Supression: AMI ZCS
Line signaling: CPE
Incoming Routing Digits: 0
Channel Type: E&M-Tie
Incoming/Outgoing Trunk Type: Wink-Start
Direction: Bothway

With this config I can place and receive calls. But like I said I have 15 seconds of silence and my SSA says the status of the call is "Pre-alerting", afterwards it passes to "Seized" with a long tone sound and then to my AutoAttendant.

I am not familar with caribbean providers but, from what your describing that isn't a PRI but a T1 Ckt. and usally at least in US if you are using AMI the framing would be D4.

A PRI is usually B8ZS ESF at least in US..

But like I said I am not familar with Caribbean telco set up

My bad, the framing IS D4, but I was playing around with ESF and B8ZS, in case my provider had given me some wrong info, and I hadn't returned it to the functional config. I said PRI because the line menu says PRI 24 line, but yea, it is a T1, which is why I used the Line Subtype T1.

Finally got the delay reduced, went to the timers tab in the Channel Options and modified the First Incoming Digit de 1000, instead of 15000. Hope this helps someone else.
