hello, here is a strange one. I have 2 cisco 2621 XM's and each of them have a t1csu/dsu module in them. When the module is in none of the interfaces show up when i take out the module and reload the interfaces comeback in working condition. On cisco's site they say the that it is supported. I'm, confused!!!
thanks

Hey buckweet thanks for the response. I dont think it is the mod because I bought 2 of them 1 for each router and they both do the same thing on each router !!! I removed the module and erased nvram etc. and now I cant get the interfaces back. this is really weird. cant say that ive run into this one before
thanks

when you say the interfaces dont show up, you mean as a interface serial x/x or as a controller card? Since its a integrated csu/dsu you have to configure the controller for the serial interfaces to show up. (u prb already know this, sorry if you do!)

ex:

controller T1 4/0/0
channel-group 0 timeslots 1-24

then you will see the below as an interface to configure.

interface Serial4/0/0:0

hope this is what you are looking for!

check "sh ver" and make sure the module is even showing up.

stoney.

is the card a WIC-1DSU-T1 (which from what I understand this is what you're using)? If so, you don't use the controller commands.. do a "sh diag" command and it'll list all of the hardware that is in your router.

to help us out more, what WIC card are you using?

Thanks guys for all the help but I have tried the controller commands and if i do a sh diag the command succeeds but with no output. When i say the interfaces dont show uo I mean that when i plugged in the module and powered up there were 0 interfaces, in other words a sh int would produce nothing!!! that is why i am so boggled. the mod card is a wic-1dsu-t1. the only other thing i can think of is that this router is a 2621 XM. this is a new series the only diff should be the hardware can handle mor memorm/ ram. When i went on cisco's web site when ordering i just assumed that this is a member or the 2600 family which would mean that the modules should all be interchangable. but I've allready found out that the ram is different. let me know what you think and im gonna call TAC
:)
thanks

ok i deserve flaming for this one :)
it turned out that the 2621 xm needs diff ios than 2621. I could have sworn I didnt see the xm in the ios download area but sure enough there it was. they dont have much to choose from yet but i got what i needed and its AMAZING my interfaces reapeared!!! hahaha
thanks
